Renny Price SU-29
Renny Price (Hammerhead Aerobatics) learned how to fly in 1969 at the Aurora State Airport and started flying for US Air as an airline captain. He later became a flight instructor and spent a lot of time (23,000 hours to be exact!) in the air training someone else to fly. In 1992 Renny Price attended his first airshow. After 20 minutes of barrel rolls and hammerheads Renny thought it looked like fun and decided to try it for himself! He hooked up with an aerobatic instructor to learn how to “really fly.” After a lot of practice, Renny started winning competitions!
Today, he pilots the Sukhoi SU-29 – the strongest, most agile two-seat aerobatic plane out there. Developed in Russia, the plane has been stress tested to +/- 23 degrees without wing or tail failure and is powered by a 360 hp, nine-cylinder M-14 radial engine. It’s big, it’s loud and it has a rollrate of 380/second. When it’s all said and done, Renny only has one thing to say: “Wanna go for a ride?” One thing is for sure…Renny loves to fly and if you’re in the seat in front of him, you had better strap in and HANG ON!
